Samsung Galaxy S5 To Launch for Rs. 51,500


Samsung is all set to unveil its new flagship smartphone Galaxy S5 on March 27. There are a lot of speculations doing the rounds, regarding the price of the smartphone.

Now, Mahesh Telecom is reporting that the price of Samsung Galaxy S5 in India will be a whopping Rs. 51,500. Furthermore, the company will start taking pre-orders for this smartphone starting March 28th and keen consumers will have to dole out Rs. 1,500 to book the same.

He also mentions that Samsung is planning to come with a promotion with Citibank. Under this scheme, Citibank Credit card holders will get 15 percent cash back on taking home the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Citibank credit card holders can also choose to buy the smartphone on EMI of 6, 12 or 18 months at an applicable interest rate.

The phone runs Android 4.4 Kit Kat, and while it still has the TouchWiz UI, it has been cleaned up to look a lot better.

Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch display. It comes with a removable back cover as well. Inside the S5 boasts a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, an IR remote, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE/ANT+ and Cat 4 LTE. At the time of launch Samsung had showed two variants of Samsung Galaxy S5, one with 16GB internal storage while the other had 32GB.

Samsung Galaxy S5 packs in a hefty 2,800 mAh, and the smartphone comes with some power-saving features so apparently even when your phone hits 10 percent, it can last another 24 hours on standby. Additionally the S5 comes with USB 3.0, a 2.1 MP front-facing camera, and a dual-LED flash.
