The latest version of Blinkfeed debuted with the new HTC One M8 yesterday. HTC has said that it will release the app to on the Google Play Store in the coming days.
“Following its popularity with HTC users, HTC will now make HTC BlinkFeed available to other Android devices, launching on the Google Play store soon,” the company said in a statement.
The roll out is expected to give HTC the ability to update its Blinkfeed and Sense apps more easily in the future. Currently the company has to update the apps via the system update function.
The new version of Blinkfeed comes with a revamped free-scrolling interface. It also introduces larger images and the option to remove the clock if it isn’t set on the home screen.
There are also a number of tweaks to the management options.
Details of release and compatibility of the new Blinkfeed app are currently unknown. If we had to guess, we wouldn’t be surprised if it is only compatible with phones running Android KitKat.
The Blinkfeed app is the latest HTC app to make it to Google’s Play Store. Last week, HTC Service Pack, HTC SenseTV, HTC Guide and HTC Gallery were also uploaded to the store to be downloaded by other Android users.
