Multiple reports in the past couple of months have indicated that Canada-based BlackBerry is working on its first Android-powered smartphone allegedly called the Venice. Now the company has put a stop on the rumors, and has officially confirmed that it indeed is working on an Android device that will be released as the BlackBerry Priv.
As per the recent reports, the BlackBerry Priv will sport either a 5.4-inch or 5.6-inch QHD display. It will be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, aided by 3GB of RAM. There will be 32GB of internal memory on board, which will be further expandable via a microSD card. For imaging, it will offer an 18MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper.
The BlackBerry Priv will also offer the company’s signature QWERTY keyboard. The device will be equipped with the company’s suite of BB applications as well. The company is expected to reveal more details on the matter in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
