Samsung India is all set to launch the mini variant of the Galaxy S5 (review) flagship smartphone. The company has listed the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Duos on its official website in India, without mentioning price and availability at the moment.
For those unaware, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini was introduced in July this year. The phone features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor of unknown make, paired with 1.5GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. Camera features include an 8MP rear shooter and a 2.1MP front snapper, both with a CMOS sensor.
The Galaxy S5 Mini runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top. It comes with the company’s propriety applications, including S Health, Kids Mode and the Ultra Power Saving Mode. Like the Galaxy S5, the handset incorporates a fingerprint sensor in the home button, and a heart rate monitor on the back panel. It is IP67-certified for resistance against dust and water. Connectivity wise, it offers dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and aGPS+. The device also has an IR blaster for universal remote functionality.
