Nokia X+ officially launched in India for Rs 8,399

The Nokia X+ Android smartphone has been launched in India for Rs 8,399. It's a slightly upgraded version of the recently-launched Nokia X. In addition, the vendor has also officially announced the availability of the Nokia XL, which recently went on sale in the country. The Nokia X-series is the first range of Android-powered smartphones from Nokia (now a part of Microsoft), released at MWC this year.

Just in case you need a reminder about its specs, the Nokia X+ comes with a 4-inch LCD capacitive display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The Nokia XL, on the other hand, features a 5-inch display with the same resolution. The pair are powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, paired with 768MB of RAM. In fact, the only difference between the X and the X+ is the RAM, which in the former's case is 512MB. There is 4GB of internal storage, further expandable up to 32GB via microSD cards. The X+ sports a 3MP rear shooter, but lacks a front camera for video calls. Thankfully, the XL offers a 5MP rear and a 2MP front shooter. Connectivity features include dual-SIM, 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The X+ is fuelled by a 1,500mAh battery, while the larger XL hides a 2,000mAh pack. They run a heavily modified version of Android OS, called the Nokia X Platform.
The Nokia X+ will be available to buy soon, while the XL is available on the company's official e-store. In addition, Microsoft is also reportedly working on the next-generation of X-series smartphones, which will come with a dedicated home screen button, missing in the current gen devices.
