iPhone 4 in the Indian market discontinues

Apple is withdrawing its only iPhone priced below Rs 20,000, the iPhone 4, from the Indian market. According to a report by The Times of India, three of the leading Apple trade partners in India said that the fresh supplies of the Apple iPhone 4 have been stopped. Apple has also communicated that it will not be taking any fresh orders for the phone henceforth.

According to the report, Apple has made the decision following the relatively low global average selling price of the iPhone in the last quarter, which is reportedly because of the iPhone 4's relaunch and price cut on the iPhone 4S in emerging markets.
Just a few months ago, Apple relaunched the iPhone 4 as a low-cost option in price sensitive markets like India, Brazil and Indonesia. The company also announced a price cut on the iPhone 4S at the same time. Following India, Apple will withdraw the iPhone 4 from other emerging markets.iPhone 4
The iPhone 4 reportedly helped to increase Apple's user base in India by over 25 lakh in a single year. Apple’s trade partners also revealed that the iPhone 4S has been the company’s highest selling phone, after the Rs 7,500 buyback offer introduced last month.
