Sony Xperia G mid-range smartphone coming soon, specs and photos leaked

The Sony Xperia G is likely to offer a 4.8-inch display, LTE connectivity, 8MP rear snapper and 8GB of inbuilt storage.

Sony is reportedly working on a new mid-range smartphone. Called the Sony Xperia G, the device has surfaced online in live pictures along with alleged specifications. Sony is expected to launch the phone at MWC 2014, scheduled from 24th February, where it is also reportedly releasing the successor to the Sony Xperia Z1.

According to the source, the Sony Xperia G will be featuring a 4.8-inch display and LTE connectivity. It will offer an 8MP rear snapper, but no information is provided on the front shooter. Other likely specs include 1GB RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage along with microSD card slot for expansion. The phone may not boast any IP rating, which means it may not be impervious to water or dust like some of its more accomplished siblings we've seen in the past. No other details about the phone are available at the moment.

Sony has already sent invites for its MWC event for February 24th. According to the reports, Sony will be releasing the next-gen Xperia flagship and a smartband wearable accessory powered by Sony Core and Lifelog app at the event.
